Presentación

Physician associates are increasingly recognised by NE health authorities as playing a key role in the NHS of the future.

UCLan is hopeful to host 30 NHS HEE-NW 2-year PA training posts starting in February 2017, although at the present time this has not been confirmed. The precise funding model is still to be clarified but the current course offers bursaries which pay a salary of approximately £15,000 for the two years of your training, in addition to all your course fees. Jobs across the North West, in both acute and primary care, would come on line at the end of Year 2 of the programme and, as a qualified Physician Associate, applicants, having passed the national exam and having met all the required competences, would be made aware of and be eligible to apply for these posts. Prior to designing this course we have visited programmes in both the USA and UK in order to create a course of the highest standards. You will be taught in the medical school by senior clinicians and will share some of their classes with medical students.
