UCLan’s Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice is designed to develop clinical and technical knowledge and the skills required to deliver core pharmaceutical services safely and effectively within primary, secondary and community care settings.
The overall aim of the course is to provide equitable training and assessment to equip students with the skills, knowledge and experience to provide the highest quality professional care as well as a method to progress their career. In addition, the programme has been designed to provide opportunities for students to develop a skill base that is not solely focused on academic ability, by incorporating elements of assessed work which facilitate personal development in the following areas: communication, IT, numeracy, interpersonal/teamwork, self-management and professional development.
Normally have a first degree (2:2 class or above) or equivalent, in pharmacy from an approved institution of higher education.
Have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Have a minimum of six months’ post-registration experience
Be working in, or able to access a practice environment that will enable them to meet and achieve the course learning outcomes.
