Master Urban Design Full Time - Master en Diseño urbano
Government advises that good planning and good design are inseparable; this course focuses on urban design as a part of town planning. You will study alongside postgraduate town planning students.
Our approach to urban design emphasises the continuing nature of planning responsibilities (as opposed to the contractual nature of most design professions) and focuses on the everyday use of places and spaces.
Initial modules contextualise ideas of urban design and its evolution. The core of the course is project work on sites where there are current urban design issues and we have established links with the planning authority or a client. We have worked on the hinterland of Bankside, Great Yarmouth Sea Front, and Central Hackney.
To apply for a Taught Masters postgraduate course at LSBU you need one of the following:
- IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 580 (Paper) or 237 (Computer) or 90 (Internet)
- Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto, average 6.0-6.9 (old grading system), or 1.5 in new grading system
For Postgraduate Diploma and Masters courses the normal entry qualification is an Honours degree or equivalent. For some Postgraduate Diplomas alternative qualifications are accepted along with relevant work experience.
