Master Sport Management (Full-time, Part-time) - Máster en Gestión Deportiva
Awarded through the University of Northampton and delivered at Moulton College, this course equips students with necessary tools to become a sports therapist, including a range of practical, patient handling and clinical decision-making skills. Teaching takes place in world-class facilities at Moulton College that include purpose-built clinical teaching rooms, strength and conditioning suite, 25-metre pool, environmental chamber, whole-body cryotherapy chambers, aquatic therapy facilities and physiology and biomechanics laboratories.
Lower second-class honours degree or better in a relevant discipline (sports science, sports performance and coaching, fitness) but applicants from other disciplines may be admitted where they can demonstrate a strong anatomy and physiology knowledge and a willingness and ability to tackle the course.
The course is also suitable for applicants with a degree in sports therapy wishing to further advance their knowledge to level 7. Applicants must demonstrate a sufficient command of the English language. International applicants must demonstrate an equivalent entry qualification and have an IELTS score of at least 6.5. All applicants will be interviewed.
During your study on this course you will be required to critically analyse the biomechanics of the upper and lower limbs and consider their influence on the mechanics of sports injuries. You will also critically analyse the current recommendations for the prevention of sports injuries and demonstrate practical competency in the delivery of peripheral and vertebral manual therapy techniques. You will demonstrate the ability to plan, design and conduct an individual piece of research and demonstrate suitable levels of competency and professionalism within the work place as expected by industry standards.
