The MSc Sport, Health & Exercise Science postgraduate degree represents the academic and research interests of exercise and health scientists within the University. There is a very vibrant research culture in sport and health and our students are strongly encouraged to engage with this from the beginning of their studies. The Sport, Health and Exercise Science Research Unit also has extensive National and International collaborations and has frequent academic visitors from other universities. The University of South Wales is 15th overall in the UK for world leading research in sports and exercise science.
During your studies, you will conduct supervised and independent research work at our Sports Park and at our state-of-the-art environmental, exercise physiology and body composition laboratories on Glyntaff campus.
Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto with an average of 6.0-6.9, Aprobado or above
English language qualifications:
GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above
IELTS with an average overall score 6.5 with at least a 5.5 in each component
TOEFL IBT minimum score 88
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 176 with at least 162 in each component; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill
Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE III Pass for postgraduate taught courses and research applications
City and Guild’s IESOL/ISESOL tests at expert and mastery levels (C2 and C1) for the majority of postgraduate programmes
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 67 points in each elemen

Learning and teaching methods
Teaching methods include small group workshops, seminars, lectures, video analysis, practical laboratory investigations and practicals; some of which will be student-led. All teaching material is supported by the latest research information and national and local policy drivers. Interactive, e-learning platforms are used to support your learning throughout the course, as well as the excellent library facilities.
A higher level degree such as an MSc, MPhil or PhD is becoming increasingly essential if you want to pursue a professional and/or academic career in sport and exercise science or physical activity/nutrition related to public health.
