In this course, you will study the structure and function of cells as the chemical basis of life, become familiar with environmental impact assessment, rehabilitation and restoration techniques, classify contaminants or trace the effects of toxins in the environment.
This course will allow you to refine your knowledge of the environmental sciences by focusing on biodiversity and sustainability. A special emphasis is placed in environmental management, including available tools for evaluation of ecosystem rehabilitation and restoration.
In addition, a research project in a selected field of environmental biology and management is considered an important component of the course. Intensive study periods may also be available over the summer or vacation periods.
