This programme provides education and training for Physicists to become innovators in the rapidly expanding fields of radio frequency, microwave and millimetre wave engineering. These technologies are at the heart of radio systems used for terrestrial, satellite and mobile communications and electromagnetic sensors such as radar.
This programme will help you to develop an ability to interpret user requirements and component specifications, to engineer effective designs within the constraints imposed by the available resources and fundamental physical limits.
A first or upper second-class Honours accredited degree in Physics or a closely related subject/discipline.

The MSc Radio Engineering has been designed in consultation with BAE Systems, Selex ES, Thales, QinetiQ, L-3 Communications, Jaguar Land Rover, Peak RF and GCHQ to ensure that its content meets the needs of the 21st century industry and maximises the employability of successful graduates.
Many of our industrial collaborators are involved to various degrees in the delivery of the MSc programme, which will offer students the unique opportunity to make themselves known to potential employers informally and well before engaging in a formal job application.
The type of job for which this MSc prepares its graduates is that of a professional radio frequency or microwave engineer capable of working in a variety of roles including research, development, design, applications and consultancy.
