    Presentación

    The Master of Property is a professional degree to help develop your career in the property industry. You will gain advanced knowledge in:

    Property valuation and analysis
    Development and management of property
    Professional practice in a property context
    The Master of Property offers you flexibility so you can take a two-year program if you already have a three-year undergraduate degree in property or the three-year program if your first degree is not in property and you are making a career change.

    You complete a range of core courses covering all the property fundamentals including:

    Property development
    Property law
    Facility management
    Advanced property analysis
    Statutory valuation
    Property agency and marketing
    The economies of cities and regions
    You can then enhance this fundamental knowledge with six property electives and two cross-disciplinary courses from the relevant fields of urban design, urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture.

    Requisitos

    Two-year Program
    You need to meet the following criteria for successful entry to the program:

    EITHER

    A Bachelor of Planning and Design (Property and Construction) completed at the University of Melbourne between 2005 and 2010; and
    At least 16 weeks of documented relevant work experience
    OR

    An undergraduate degree in a relevant area with a weighted average of at least H3 (65%) in the final two years or equivalent; and
    A personal statement of up to 1000 words outlining relevant prior study and work experience, and motivation to undertake the program

    Three-year Program
    You need to meet the following criteria for successful entry to the program:

    An undergraduate degree in any area with at least H3 (65%) average in the final two years, or equivalent; and
    A personal statement of no more than 1000 words outlining relevant prior study and work experience, and motivation to undertake the program

    Programa

    The Master of Property is offered over two or three years depending on your academic background.

    Study the Master of Property over two years
    Duration: 2 years full-time / 4 years part-time
    Study mode: On-campus only – Parkville campus
    Academic background: you already have a three-year undergraduate degree in property
    Study the Master of Property over three years
    Duration: 3 years full-time / 6 years part-time
    Study mode: On-campus only – Parkville campus
    Academic background: you have completed an undergraduate degree but it is not in property
    Global Study Opportunity: International Property Development
    As one of your electives, you will have the opportunity to undertake International Property Development where you travel to a number cities over an intensive period to explore the way in which the property industry operates differently in different places.

    With a team of fellow students, you will visit Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and Singapore and gain the following:

    An international perspective on property and construction
    An understanding of industry operations in several Asian countries
    The ability to compare international property and construction markets
    An understanding of alternative cultural drivers in the property and construction industries
    You will cover a range of property and construction topics including project inception, project finance, project valuation and appraisal, development appraisal, urban planning policies and permits, project procurement and delivery, construction planning and management, construction technology and services, construction methods and equipment, construction and leasing contracts, and associated legal matters.

    You will be required to arrange and pay for your own travel, accommodation and incidentals.

    Electives
    Electives offer you the chance to delve into areas of special interest to you and develop expert knowledge.
