Presentación

The management and policy focus ranges from the local level through national and to global levels, with emphasis on comparative international approaches. The course takes an evidence–based perspective and will encourage a reflective, ethical, multi-disciplinary and inter-professional approach to the condition of obesity, weight management and policy. This course is also informed by the research undertaken at London Metropolitan University. Professor David McCarthy heads up nutrition research along with other colleagues. For example, the ways we now assess overweight and obesity across childhood and adolescence has been driven by our research on body composition and growth charts. We also undertake research into the ways that ethnic background determines your risk of becoming overweight or obese. In the 2008 RAE exercise 5% of the School/Institute research activity was rated 4*, 25% 3* and 35% 2*.
