Presentación

The Master of Nursing Studies welcomes nurses with diploma/associate degrees/degrees in nursing and focuses on the professional development of qualified nurses. The degree aims to equip nurses to undertake higher level practice, education and leadership roles.

International students who are eligible can undertake the Overseas Nursing programme. On successful completion, you will have gained an internationally recognised qualification that is designed to prepare nurses to take up posts within nursing services globally.

Requisitos

Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto with an average of 6.0-6.9, Aprobado or above

English language qualifications:
GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above
IELTS with an average overall score 6.5 with at least a 5.5 in each component
TOEFL IBT minimum score 88
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 176 with at least 162 in each component; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill
Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE III Pass for postgraduate taught courses and research applications
City and Guild’s IESOL/ISESOL tests at expert and mastery levels (C2 and C1) for the majority of postgraduate programmes
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 67 points in each elemen

OSCE (Objective structured clinical examination)
Some modules use service users/patients (who also participate in the delivery and planning of modules).
To support development all students will be allocated a personal tutor for pastoral and professional development support. Module content will be facilitated by specialised teachers, who will act as the academic supervisors and examiners for each module.

Employers value highly and are attracted to international nurses who have gained a Masters degree within the UK. To support employability the course maximises the potential to develop your career within nursing, by offering a “Learning in the workplace” module which includes a period of work experience.

Employer engagement has led to high levels of post-study employment both within the NHS and within the independent sector. In addition many international nursing graduates gain employment in other countries, such as Canada, Australia and the Emirate States. The University runs a number of nursing employer events which are attended by employers from independent, NHS and nursing agencies.
