The Master in Interaction Design looks to develop professionals who aspire to be digital leaders of tomorrow equipped with the collaborative, critical thinking and technical skills to react, adapt and leverage the impacts of digital transformation and understanding how digital can be
harnessed for strategic design.
This Master provides an environment of creativity, design and technological innovation by focusing projects through a futures lens with the skillset and mindset to challenge the status quo, creating wellrounded designers, who can work across disciplinary, cultural and geographical boundaries to design future facing solutions that meet individual, societal and business needs through the nurturing of curiosity, experimentation, technical capabilities and critical thinking, as well as empathic and collaborative skills.
With strategic collaborations and partnerships from industry leaders we bring students and industries to work together on real world challenges with a lens on applied innovation.
The Master is a combination of 2 stages, each a module:
The first one in transversal design education where students develop a well rounded approach to design development and speWe in either Digital Management, Creative Coding, UX / UI or Digital Fabrication.
The second stage of the Master’s degree enters into the specialisations.
"I was working in graphic design for 8 years when I signed for IED’s Master in Interaction Design and I never thought all the skills taught in the master will open me several opportunities in all design fields, now I’m designing hardware an I love it.
After finishing the program I can say my design mindset has changed and I’m currently excited with the idea of applying design in any field that will make people’s life easier."

The introductory module in Interaction Design investigates all facets of the process of digital content creation, production, design and prototyping by encouraging research, design and innovation in digital services.
This first part of the Master is structured around a repeated weekly schedule that follows the development phases of a digital service or product: think, design, code, make and inspire.
In this way, it is possible to provide balanced training on the cornerstones of the world of creative digital companies.
The basic concepts of the four specialisation courses are introduced in this first stage, so that all the students of the Master are provided with the same groundwork: solid knowledge of entrepreneurship, digital business models and basic digital design.
The content is complemented by project management and new digital work methodologies, with one day a week dedicated to completing the briefs effectively while encouraging group cooperation and stimulating creativity.
Talks by creatives from other fields are held on Fridays, as well as visits to sector companies, cultural outings, creative afterwork events and presentations for students to improve their public speaking skills.
Students begin their specialisation stage in the second part of the Master.
The weeks still follow a weekday schedule, with Mondays and Fridays comprising common classes between all the courses in which the basic foundations of thinking and inspiring continue to be promoted.
Wednesdays are dedicated to project development, in which the students work in mixed teams with each assuming the role of the specific professional from their specialisation course field.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays each group works on proper contents of the chosen specialisation.
