The Master of Education will give you a solid foundation in education practice and theory, and allow you to pursue your own interests through research and elective subjects.
The flexible structure provides over 70 electives from which to build a course that is tailor-made for you. You may choose all five of your electives in the area of literacy education, or take subjects spanning completely different topics.
An undergraduate degree and a fourth-year level teaching qualification, or equivalent
or a four-year teaching degree, or equivalent
Research students must maintain a grade average of 75% in all coursework to progress to thesis
All students must meet English language requirements
There are three options of study:
Graduate Certificate in Education - 50 points of any subject from a specified list (subjects may be 12.5 or 25 points). Detailed course and subject information is available in the University handbook .
Master of Education Coursework - three compulsory subjects, with at least three electives. Detailed course and subject information is available in the University handbook.
Master of Education Research - two compulsory subjects, two subjects from an elective theme and 20,000 word thesis. You will complete the coursework subjects before starting your thesis. Students who are interested in completing a thesis are encouraged to apply.Detailed course and subject information is available in the University handbook .
