Master Electrical Engineering for Modern Sustainable Transport Systems - Máster en Ingeniería Eléctrica para Sistemas Modernos de Transporte Sostenible

This is a broad based civil engineering course covering the areas of structures, geotechnics, water engineering, transportation and conservation.
The technical modules of the course aim to develop the understanding and application of advanced theoretical contents of the specialist subject.
Structural topics are taught in the two modules of Finite Elements and Stress Analysis, and Advanced Structural Design. The interaction of geotechnics and structures is covered in the Soil-Structure Engineering module. The Water Resources Systems Management module looks into the water engineering aspects. The transportation field is studied in the Highway and Railway Engineering and Operations module. The final module, Conservation and Economic Appraisal of Infrastructures examines the methods, merits and economics of repairs of existing structures.
To apply for a Taught Masters postgraduate course at LSBU you need one of the following:
- IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 580 (Paper) or 237 (Computer) or 90 (Internet)
- Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto, average 6.0-6.9 (old grading system), or 1.5 in new grading system
For Postgraduate Diploma and Masters courses the normal entry qualification is an Honours degree or equivalent. For some Postgraduate Diplomas alternative qualifications are accepted along with relevant work experience. The University considers each application on its merits and is prepared to admit candidates who can demonstrate they have reached the normal entry requirements on the basis of prior experiential learning.

You will be required to complete an individual project into a specific area of the programme studied, providing you with the opportunity of pursuing a programme of independent study. The work is to be of an investigative nature having an experimental, analytical, computer-based or fieldwork input.
Employment prospects for graduates of these courses are very good, especially in view of the upturn in new infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas. Successful students enter into a variety of positions within the construction industry, ranging from working in a design office, with contractors and in local authorities.
