Biotechnology is the use and manipulation of living organisms, to make products of value to humanity. It is a fundamental area of applied science and covers a diverse range of specialist fields.
The Master of Biotechnology professional masters degree is designed to provide a higher level of specialised scientific learning together with professional skills training options in business, communications and management.

You will gain a sound understanding of the scientific technologies at the forefront of the emerging biotechnology industries, and knowledge in areas of science commercialisation, biotechnology regulation, scientific leadership and decision making.

This degree also provides the flexibility to choose from a range of electives to complement your specific interests and focus.


A bachelor degree with a major in a Life Science or Chemistry, with a weighted average mark of at least 65%. As part of your degree studies, you must have completed an appropriate sequence of genetics or biochemistry related subjects or equivalent to at least second year level.
