Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design will — in a short amount of time — prepare college or university graduates with engineering theory and practice related to modern manufacturing and production processes.
If you qualify, you will enter year two (semester three) of the three-year program and receive your Technology diploma in two years (four semesters).

During your time in the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science offering, you will attend courses that emphasize the design and development of various mechanical devices and equipment. By practicing on the latest industry relevant software, you will gain skills in advanced computer-assisted drafting and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), as used in the industry. Additionally, you will be introduced to finite element analysis, using ANSYS Software.

Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design (Fast Track/ PTY) will employ a project approach that will see you spend about one quarter of program time on projects that relate classroom theory to actual design and manufacture processes. Capstone project courses will teach you to plan, s
