The Mechanical Engineering Technician – Design (Fast Track) program will benefit you if you are a college or university graduate looking to combine strong conceptual thinking with a practical knowledge of machines and how they work.
If you qualify, you may gain direct admission into the second year (semester three) of this two-year program and receive your Technician diploma in one year (two semesters).
By learning engineering theory that is supported by practice related to modern manufacturing and production processes you will gain the skills that employers seek. The School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science offering will use a project approach that will see you learning to plan, schedule, create, design and build in small groups. In fact, capstone project courses will specifically focus on projects in a teamwork environment using a machine shop equipped with CNC machines and rapid prototyping equipment. Additionally, using the latest industry relevant software, you will develop advanced computer-assisted drafting and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM) skills.
College diploma or university degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline

Centennial College English Skills Assessment is required (score of 160 or 161 is required for admission)
