The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the world’s largest professional marketing body. It provides membership, qualifications and training to marketing professionals around the world.
The accredited CIM qualifications available at the University of South Wales are for those looking to acquire professional recognition, while gaining both practical and strategic marketing skills and knowledge.
The CIM Postgraduate Diploma is a Level 7 qualification that has been designed for marketing managers working at, or aspiring to work at strategic level. The focus is on strategic aspects of marketing management. This qualification is increasingly seen as the benchmark of competence at the highest level.
Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto with an average of 6.0-6.9, Aprobado or above
English language qualifications:
GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above
IELTS with an average overall score 6.5 with at least a 5.5 in each component
TOEFL IBT minimum score 88
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 176 with at least 162 in each component; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill
Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE III Pass for postgraduate taught courses and research applications
City and Guild’s IESOL/ISESOL tests at expert and mastery levels (C2 and C1) for the majority of postgraduate programmes
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 67 points in each elemen

The Chartered Postgraduate Diploma provides the opportunity to examine future strategic options and consider best marketing practice. You will appreciate how your organisation can differentiate in a competitive world.
The course includes four compulsory modules:
Analysis and Decision
Marketing Leadership and Planning
Managing Corporate Reputation
Learning and teaching methods
Work related assignments, projects and examinations.
Students who have achieved this qualification have secured senior positions as marketing managers that involve the creation and implementation of a marketing strategy.
Some students choose to go on to the postgraduate degree qualifications available at the university, such as our MBA (Master of Business Administration) or specialist Marketing Masters programmes such as the MSc/MA Digital Marketing.
