This new and innovative course is specifically designed to develop the knowledge and understanding of health and social care professionals working to, or aspiring to be an advanced practitioner.
The course will enable you to develop your knowledge base from the perspective of your own individual work, whilst sharing and learning from your colleagues across the interprofessional team. It presents an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to critically evaluate your practice and make evidence-based judgements. You will be able to further integrate new and existing skills in a practice setting while maintaining and developing high quality healthcare in your current work place. It is deliberately designed to attract the breadth of health and social care professionals to be a truly interprofessional course.
First degree or equivalent.
Be engaged in practice for normally a minimum of 20 hours per week.
With the Department of Health (2010) recently recommending postgraduate study for those in advanced practiced roles and UK nursing moving to an all-graduate intake by September 2013, this is an ideal opportunity for those of you in a position of advanced practice or aspiring to be in such a position to top-up your qualifications and complete your Masters degree. The chance to further develop your critical thinking skills and undertake independent study based on the development of your role or that of your service, will equip you to feel confident in your leadership role in the current environment of healthcare provision and radical changes in the future.
