“Worldwide luxury goods continues double-digit annual growth; global market now tops €200 billion, finds Bain & Company” (2013)
Market analysts and industry experts concur that Luxury Goods companies perform better than others even in turbulent times. The reason for this lies in their ability to fulfill the need for the exceptional expressed by a growing number of customers all over the world.
In order to meet these expectations Luxury companies need excellent and cutting edge design skills, outstanding craftsmanship, ability to deliver unique customer experience throughout customer interaction and to create deep meaning through branding. Helping companies to develop and manage such competencies and abilities in order to succeed in the Luxury markets requires specialised skills and knowledge. These areas are often not covered by traditional general management programmes. In order to fill this gap MIP Politecnico di Milano and Reims Management School jointly developed the International Master in Luxury Management.

Objetivos

The programme aims at developing expert managers in the luxury industry that can be employed in the key functions of Luxury Goods companies.
The programme deals with the creation and the management of value throughout the value chain of luxury organization

Programa

1ST TERM - Luxury value & Fondations, September to December

The first part, held at Reims, aims at offering a general overview on the competitive structure and the business
models of the Luxury sector. Topics in Term I focus on:
Fundamentals of Management (General Management and Organization; Functional perspectives; Personal
Development and Coaching)
Luxury Markets, Industries and Players (Luxury overview & Luxury Business Model, Understanding Luxury
consumers)
Managing Key Processes in Luxury companies (Marketing for Luxury brands and products, Strategic Marketing
Management)

2nd Term - Luxury value management, January to July
The second part of the programme, based both in Reims and Milan, will explore in detail the Luxury Value
Management, with the purpose of illustrating the key processes involved in the value creation and delivery, as
well as strategic assets management in a Luxury Company.

Topics in Term II focus on:
- Managing Assets Value (Corporate Finance; Managing Value Creation; Brand Protection; Intellectual Property
&Patent Management; Prime locations: Real Estate; Territorial Market and Marketing; Focus on Champagne &
Hospitality)
- Building Luxury Value (Brand Management; Product & Collection Design; Operations & Quality Management;
Supply Chain & Purchasing Management)
- Delivering Luxury Value (Channel Management; Product & Collection Design; Retail & Sales Management;
Communication & Promotion)

3rd Term - Project work / optional Internship, September to November
The final part of the Master is devoted to a Luxury relatedproject work that will give students the
opportunity to have a hands-on approach on some relevant issues in managing Luxury Companies or to a 3-month
internship (optional). Teaching methodologies: lectures ex cathedra, case-studies, testimonials and Company
visits. At the end of the programme, students will gain a Master of
Science from RMS and a Specialized Master Degree from Politecnico di Milano
